This is when there are low levels of blood sugar (Glucose) in the dogs body. Glucose is a main energy source in an animal’s body, so a low amount will result in a severe decrease in energy levels, possibly to the point of loss of consciousness.
The low blood sugar should be immediately treated with a glucose supplement. At home you can rub some honey on their gums, be sure to take the dog to the vet, if symptoms continue to worsen.
