Aortic Stenosis in Dogs and Cats

Aortic Stenosis

This is a narrowing of the aortic valve, which controls the blood flowing from the left ventricle to the aorta ventricular outflow tract. This causes excessive pressure on the heart.                                                                                                                                

Symptoms

In mild cases, there can be no signs. In more severe cases there can be;
  • Weakness
  • Fainting 
  • Difficulty breathing

Causes

It is Congenital, meaning that they are born with the condition.

Treatments

In mild cases no treatment is required, in the more severe cases medication is required.
